The Morris Register of SA plans to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the formation of our Club in a two-day event on 28-29 January 2023.

The Club was originally formed by a group of 1930’s Morris 8/40 enthusiasts, and later expanded to include all vehicles manufactured by William Morris (Lord Nuffield) such as Riley, Wolseley and MG.

The Morris Register caters particularly for older vehicles of the 1920’s to 1950’s era in original condition or restored, and unmodified, but we do also have a reasonable number of post 1950 vehicles as well.

Our Club currently has 220 members, and at this stage we anticipate at least 80 cars and trucks will be attending the display day on Saturday, 28 January 2023 between 10-3pm at the Civic Park Modbury – opposite Tea Tree Plaza Shopping Centre.

At this event we are inviting members of other associated Nuffield branded car clubs to attend, in particular, the Morris Minor Car Club of SA with whom we have a close connection.

We have also sent invitations to our affiliated interstate Morris Register clubs in Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland.

Naturally we would be delighted to welcome the general public to attend, and there will be food vans on site for your convenience.

Our Major Sponsor, Shannons, will be in attendance at Civic Park with their marquee and staff, and they will be able to provide information about their specialty insurance which caters for both classic and modern vehicles alike.  We appreciate their commitment and support.

On Sunday, 29 January we will hold a formal three course luncheon at the Parafield Gardens Community Club.

At this luncheon there will be the launch of a book written by a former President, Editor and long-time Club Member John Chapman, which details the first 50 years of history and activities of our Club.

If anyone would like more information about this event please contact our president Valerie Beatty on 0427 010 616
