National Rally 2028

Every two years Morris Registers of Australia organise a National Rally alternating in their respective states. It’s held over a four-day period. The states of South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland each with their own clubs, known as Registers take a turn once every eight years to organise this event located somewhere in their own state. A traditional secret is where the location of the next rally’s location will be, only being announced at the final evening’s dinner at the previous state’s rally.

South Australia is the host state in 2028 for the next National Rally which will be in the “Copper Triangle” from Monday 1st May to Friday 5th May 2028. This covers the old copper mining townships of Wallaroo, Kadina and Moonta located in the mid north of the state.

The township of Wallaroo has been chosen for Rally Headquarters using its town hall for this purpose. Wallaroo known for great features, rich history and fresh seafood is located 161 kilometres and approximately 1 hour and 54 minutes driving time from Adelaide, the capital city of South Australia. Kadina, the capital of the historical “Copper Coast” region is the largest town on Yorke Peninsula and the major regional commercial hub. Moonta is an historical coastal township, famous for its rich copper mining past, family friendly beaches at Moonta Bay and its traditional Cornish pasties. It has also been nicknamed “Australia’s Little Cornwall”.

The Rally Committee is well underway with organising this event, anticipating more than 75 Morris or Nuffield vehicles from the period 1916 to the 1970s from the four states, not forgetting amongst the “Early Bird” entries already received, the entrant from Tasmania.
